Juan was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico (U.S. territory) by his parents. His mother was a Special Education public school teacher. The influence of her selflessness, philanthropy, community services, and fierce advocacy for any injustices shaped Juan's childhood and character greatly. (shown in the 1989 picture above as a Red Cross cadet)
His father (deceased), a former accountant at the Puerto Rico power company, instilled in Mr. Rodríguez morals, principles and budgeting skills as the youngest son of three children. He was raised with a leadership mentality.
Juan Rodriguez graduated magna-cum-laude from the University of Puerto Rico. Fast forward, and you'll find his long career of self-employment, charity work and volunteering since 1993 in Central Florida.
Now, after 27 years as a local resident and father to two wonderful college-aged children, he is standing up to bring fresh, new leadership to our state government. Mr. Rodríguez is not a fan of "cookie cutter, mud-slinging" politics. Not only he is putting his own business on hold to be a Full-time representative unlike the other options. He is also fully bilingual.
Juan Rodríguez measures his accomplishments by results. His understanding of Central Florida culture and personal connection to our Latino communities sets him apart as the most well-rounded candidate to represent the fine citizens of District 29.
